Nottinghamshire Police currently have exciting opportunities for highly organised, self-motivated individuals with the ability to engage with people at all levels to join our wider policing team.

Operation Perth Commenced in Spring 2024

We are seeking to recruit a number of individuals to assist in the investigation of Operation Perth – Maternity Investigations Unit. We are currently looking for Police Staff Investigator Level 2. We are looking for individuals to join the team on a Full Time, Permanent basis. Part time arrangements will also be considered. Agile working will be available dependent on the operational requirements. Agile working will be available once mandatory training is complete and the individual is able to work independently. If the successful candidate is based over 30 miles from Force Headquarters, they will be eligible to claim travel at 0.45p per mile over 30 miles.

Main Purpose of Role

Must be PIP Level 2 qualified - as a qualified PIP2 Investigator, you will conduct serious and complex investigations, interview victims and witnesses in relation to serious and complex investigations and interview suspects in relation to serious and complex investigations.  To prepare and complete files in accordance with court deadlines, legislation, and force policy, ensuring that crimes under investigation are compliant with Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA) and the Victims Charter.

Key Skills & Experience Required

Must be PIP 2 qualified.

  • Previous experience of working in customer focussed, or investigatory role requiring engaging effectively with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge or experience of the Criminal Justice System or an understanding of the relevant legislation pertinent to the role.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to gather and record information effectively within set procedure, in a logical easily understood format and style.
  • Able to manage a varied and wide range of cases including some of a sensitive nature.
