We are recruiting Detective Constable’s as Transferee’s and Re-Joiners across the force.
Applications are also welcomed from candidates who have passed their National Investigators Exam (NIE) as a Trainee Detective.

All applicants are interviewed by the Detective Management Team, to ensure your skills and experience are matched to the right role. If you are currently in a specialist post with your current force, there is potential to move laterally into an equivalent team with GMP.

Greater Manchester Police has Detective roles within the following departments:

- District Detective Constables
- Specialist Detective Constables including; Public Protection & Serious Crime Division, Professional Standards Directorate, Overt and Anti-Corruption Unit
- Public Protection Department including; Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT), Sexual Offender Management Unit (SOMU) and Child Sexual Exploitation – Major Investigation Team (CSE MIT)
- Serious Crime Department including; Serious & Organised Crime Group (SOCG), Economic & Cyber Crime Unit (ECCU) and Major Investigation Team (MIT)


Please note that you must be employed by a Home Office Force in order to apply.

Regrettably, we cannot accept applications from officers working for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC).

A full UK Manual Driving Licence is required on application.
