Financial Investigator - Op Costello
The Op Costello Team is a vital part of Bedfordshire Police’s response to Serious and Organised Crime and professional enablers. The team consists of a blend of intelligence and investigative resources, working closely with partner intelligence units to identify, disrupt, and dismantle Organised Crime Groups (OCGs).This is a fantastic opportunity for an NCA Part 8 Accredited Financial Investigator (or an Accredited Financial Intelligence Officer willing to work towards further accreditation) to join a proactive and dynamic team. The role will focus on the development of financial intelligence to support operations targeting OCGs, alongside securing evidential material for investigations through the use of production and disclosure orders under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
The successful candidate will work closely with the ERSOU Proceeds of Crime Unit (POCU) to ensure that criminal assets are identified, restrained, and confiscated, directly contributing to the disruption of criminality across Bedfordshire.
While the post holder will be allocated tasks and enquiries, they will also be expected to demonstrate initiative and professional curiosity. This includes independently identifying and progressing lines of financial enquiry, developing intelligence, and confidently making recommendations to the Officer in the Case (OIC) or Detective Sergeant (DS) to inform investigative strategy and maximise evidential opportunities.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in dismantling criminal networks by following the money and targeting the financial infrastructure that underpins serious and organised crime.
